This Friday and Saturday 11 Lindale tennis players competed at the regional tournament in Tyler at TJC. Three players have qualified for state.
Brooklyn Cornejo and Mixed doubles partner Amado Cardoso had a tough first round loss as well as Luke Rucker. Olivia Gorman and girls doubles partner Natalie Velarde won their first round match and had a hard fought loss in the second round along with boys singles player Alex Koeshall making it to the second round and Ethan Van Andel and Riley Buck making it to the second round.
State qualifiers Kalvin Dryman and Parker Hollingsworth made it to the semi finals without dropping a game and then had a hard fought loss to Pleasant Grove, but battled back to win the 3rd place match 1-6,7-6(7-0), 7-6(7-5) against Frisco Panther Creek.
And your Region 2 4A Girls Singles champion for the 2nd Time and for the 4th Time qualifying for state Bre Taylor ran through the competition without dropping a set.
These players have worked so hard and had to really fight to get to the State Level. I am so proud of them and looking forward to San Antonio. State is this week on Thursday and Friday at the Ann Marie Tennis Center in San Antonio Tx.
